The village of Rio Nell'Elba is situated on a hill, 25km from Portoferraio, on the eastern side of the beautiful holiday island of Elba. Once a mineral mining area, there are museums throughout the island displaying the various minerals, but it is to enjoy its sandy coves and hilly countryside that most tourists visit Elba. From its highest peak there are spectacular views towards the Tuscan coastline. The village is 800 metres from the resort and the village of Rio Marina is 2.5km away where there is a pebble beach.
