Nestled in the quiet Sierra pines of Arnold, California in Calaveras County, Mountain Retreat is a 2 to 4 hour drive from Lake Tahoe, 3 hours from Yosemite, and 3 hours from most San Francisco Bay Area locations. The condominiums are duplex style (one style, the Calistoga, is a triplex) with numerous stairs that afford optimum privacy.



Arnold, California is located in the heart of Gold Rush country with many historic places to go sight seeing throughout the year. The area abounds with numerous award-winning wineries that are open year round for wine tasting. Outdoor sports close to the resort range from golfing, skiing, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, cave exploration, tubing, sledding and boating, depending on season of course. Big Trees state Park is less than 5 miles from the resort with some of the biggest trees on earth. For those who wish to relax in a quiet mountain forest atmosphere, Mountain Retreat is the perfect place to be.



Mountain Retreat no longer offers fitness center access at Kline's as the resort has added its own fitness facilities onsite. Additionally, golf privileges are at Sequoia Woods Country Club, which is located adjacent to the resort. Meadowmont Golf is no longer operating. Sequoia Woods offers a far superior course.



The resort's clubhouse has been recently extensively renovated with a new indoor pool and spa. Other amenities include billiards, Wi-Fi, a business center, kitchen and fireplace, barbeques, and sauna. A beach area can be found at White Pines Lake, three miles away. In winter, 30 miles northeast in Bear Valley, there is a choice of cross-country or downhill skiing.
